Boise Roof Replacement: Wind Damage Repair & Class 4 Shingle Install

The roof in question had significantly aged and was nearing the end of its functional lifespan. This deterioration was characterized by major granule loss, which exposed the underlying fiberglass pads, compromising the roof's integrity and effectiveness. To address these issues, our team undertook a comprehensive roofing project that began with a thorough inspection of the roof deck to identify any signs of structural damage or rot. Documenting areas of concern allowed us to determine the necessary repairs before proceeding with the installation of new roofing materials.

To enhance water resistance and prevent ice dams, we installed an ice and water shield in critical areas such as eaves and valleys. This protective layer acts as a barrier against moisture infiltration, ensuring the longevity of the roof. Additionally, a synthetic felt underlayment was applied over the remaining sections of the roof deck, providing an extra layer of protection against water penetration. We also installed drip edges along the roof's perimeter to promote proper drainage, fitted pipe boots around plumbing vents, and added roof vents to enhance airflow, reducing the risk of moisture buildup in the attic space.

Finally, the roof was covered with high-quality 40-year Malarkey Highlander shingles, designed for durability and weather resistance. This comprehensive approach not only addressed the immediate concerns of granule loss and structural integrity but also ensured that the new roof would provide reliable protection for years to come. Each step was executed with attention to detail, utilizing high-quality materials to enhance the overall performance and longevity of the roofing system.
